“What Is The BEST Product to Sell Online?”

I’ve been asked more times than I can count, “What’s the best product to sell online?” I get the strangest looks when I give my simple answer: “Information.”

Of course there are tons of products, and I do mean tons of products that are being sold online. There are people who are becoming rich selling on ebay or they have some online store that does extremely well.

I’m giving you my answer based on several factors that every business owner or entrepreneurs must consider when trying to make a profit for themselves. I’ll touch on a few of those factors in a moment.

This question of “What’s the best product to sell online?” has really taken on significance as the economy continues to struggle and more and more entrepreneurs move to the Internet seeking their fortunes.

So after I give my simple answer of “Information” and the strange blank stare kinda fades the next question is always: “Why information?” Again, the answer is simple: because no other type of product is easier to create, faster to bring to market, easier to distribute, and potentially more profitable.

You see these are the factors that every business owner/entrepreneur must consider if you are going to have a profitable business.

These are factors of Cost, Resources, Time, and Production, Channels of Distribution, ROI, and Market.

A great number of info products net as much as 75% to 95% profit on the initial sale after all costs have been deducted. That is SWEET for any business. And if there is some form of continuity sales to established customers your profit can be 100%.

Obviously, there are other products you can sell online, but with these numbers you can begin to see why I say Information is the “Best” product.

Informational products come in many forms. An info product can be a digital book (e-book” is the accepted term), a digital report or white paper, a piece of software, a website, a newsletter, etc. Any product that is informational or informative in nature can be considered an info product.

There are a few more reasons why I like, no I take that back, why I LOVE info products and here they are:

Create Fast, Market Fast!

Forget the old antiquated product development cycle that says it should take years to create a product. All of the intense design and high manufacturing process and cost, you can keep it. I have literally created info products in as little as couple hours and had them online generating a little money rather quickly. If you have an attractive topic or idea and a computer, you have all the tools you need to create an info product.

No Inventory!!!

I feel sorry for the people with their basements and garages filled with boxes of cheap watches and cases of mega vitamins and miracle cures that might not ever sell. When you sell information there is no inventory to stock. Your product is digital and requires no space in your basement, just a little space on your computer. One of my most successful info products is an e-book that requires very little space on my hardrive.

Cost Almost Nothing to Startup

When you sell information you can literally create a product for next to nothing. If your product is an e-book the only investment required will be in the time it takes to put words to digital paper. If you become an affiliate marketer of someone else’s info product your investment can be zero.

You Can Automate the Sales and Delivery Process

Thanks to internet technology you can sell info products 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and barely lift a finger. Think about this, you don’t even have to be awake or at home to make money with an info product. You can completely automate the sales and delivery process so your website does everything for you.

When your site is automated it can give a potential customer/client your offer, take the order and process the payment, deliver the product by email, and even follow up in a few days to make sure the customer is satisfied and offer to sell them additional products.

I totally hated the process of finding a box and stuff to pack in it and printing labels and taping it all up and lugging it to the post office. I feel nauseous now just talking about it.

Well, this is where the business of selling info products gets real appealing for people wanting to get into the business. You can find info products and buy the rights to resell them or you can find people with excellent info products and partner to sell them and still make a nice commission.

Creating or finding information products is much easier than you think.
