Two Pillars of a Successful, Joyful, and Excellent Business!

Yesterday we talked about how many black entrepreneurs make the deadly mistake of not giving serious thought to the type of business to start.
They pick a business because they may be interested in the product or service or the big promise.
And as a consequence they find themselves in a business that gives them constant frustration, struggle, and pain.
Well, today I want to touch on the Two Pillars that give you the foundation of a great business and a great life.
Focusing On The Wrong Thing
In this society we are encouraged to seek out our weaknesses and make them stronger and better.
Don’t get me wrong, we should always work on our flaws and strive to continuously improve ourselves.
But when you focus on your weaknesses you tend to neglect your strengths and it is your talents and gifts turned into strengths that give you advantage and allows you to excel.
The Truth Pill
The false assumption is that you and I can do anything we want as long as we do this or that to improve on our weaknesses.
Of course our parents and well meaning teachers reinforce this assumption, but the truth is there are some things that we may be interested in, some businesses that we want to be involved in, but we’ll get CRUSHED.
When we start a business based upon our interest we are literally forcing ourselves to struggle and become frustrated….WHY?
Because we have to learn what we need to know and we have to provide excellent product or service to earn a profit at the same time…Impossible!
While you’re investigating and feeling your way around trying to learn about what interest you, your competition (who’s playing to their strength) is dominating you, leaving you frustrated, tired, and possibly broke.
Pillar #1
Focus On Your Strength
When you start a business and the success of that business is reliant on a core skill, which happens to be your strength, you give that business a tremendous advantage.
As you improve on your strengths you become the top in your field and that allows you to provide the greatest value to your customers.
This is how World Class entrepreneurs excel. They provide greater value than anyone else in their category.
Your strength allows you to be faster, stronger, and better than weaker versions in your industry.
When you build a business from the weakness of yourself that means that someone else is always faster, stronger, and better than you, which leaves you as the inferior choice.
The hardest part about what I just said is that a great majority of people do not know how to discover their strength(s). Don’t forget we are so accustomed to focusing on our weaknesses that we don’t even give our strengths a second thought.
And in some cases many people run from their strengths. Isn’t that backwards?
We run to our weaknesses and run from our strengths.
We don’t have enough space here to go through all of the benefits of discovering your strengths, but from this day forward you should seek to reposition your existing business or start your new business with your strengths at the core.
Pillar #2
PASSION
Building a business is the beginning of the journey, not where the journey ends. There are so many unforeseen factors that come up in business.
There are elements that will come up that you need to conquer in your business in order for it to become successful.
And if there is no will, no desire- your business that is so full of promise and potential will join the graveyard of failed businesses.
You see if you’ve started your business because of the money or maybe it was just a hot opportunity, over time you will become unmotivated.
And the work that is necessary to have an excellent business you will not feel like doing.
To make it plain; passion is about having the burning desire to forge ahead no matter what the setbacks, no matter what the obstacles are.
Your passion will allow you to create an intriguing vision for your business which will compel people to want to work with you and help you.
It is much easier to build a successful and excellent business when you can attract quality people who are willing to sacrifice to help you take it to the next level.
A truly passionate business can attract talented people to.
Ok, to summarize what we have talked about today is simply this…
In order to get away from a business that constantly keeps you frustrated and struggling and unhappy, you want to build a…
A Passionate Business That Caters To Your Strengths
This is the foundation of a Successful. Joyful & Excellent Business!
Of course I want to hear your thoughts about this below and please feel free to invite others into the conversation.
Tomorrow I’m going to share what you should lay right on top of these pillars…
